Huynh Lap aims for over 200 billion VND in revenue for "Summer Break, Fear of Retirement

On the afternoon of August 13, the premiere of Huynh Lap's film "Nghi he so nghi huu" took place in Ho Chi Minh City. The film features a cast including Hua Vi Van, Hong Anh, Phuong Thanh, Cao Minh, Cody Nam Vo, Huynh Lap, Tin Nguyen, and others.

Sharing at the premiere, Huynh Lap revealed that the idea for Nghi he so nghi huu was sparked while he was working on "Nha gia tien." During a visit to Con Dao to pay respects to fallen heroes, Huynh Lap was deeply moved by the graves of unidentified soldiers. From that moment, the idea for a film dedicated to soldiers took root, waiting only for the right conditions to be realized.

Following "Nha gia tien," Huynh Lap began writing the first lines for "Nghi he so nghi huu." Participating in the show "Sao nhap ngu" (Stars Enlist) further motivated him, as it provided an opportunity to better understand the life of a soldier. Additionally, national holidays such as April 30 and September 2 strengthened his conviction as he witnessed the patriotic spirit of many young people.

Before officially setting the theatrical release date for August 21, "Nghi he so nghi huu" was originally expected to join the "race" during the September 2 holiday. However, the film's release schedule was unexpectedly moved up by one week.

Regarding this, Huynh Lap explained: "The September 2 film season has many releases, so I decided to 'take advantage' of an earlier release for 'Nghi he so nghi huu.' Releasing early is a logical choice for both me and the film, as it allows the audience to focus more on the movie. 

Regarding revenue, Huynh Lap has set a goal for "Nghi he so nghi huu" to at least equal the box office success of "Nha gia tien," which earned approximately 242 billion VND. According to Huynh Lap, this is necessary to generate the resources for him to continue his upcoming projects.

In "Nghi he so nghi huu," the question "What if one's life is not glorious?" appears throughout, requiring the characters to find their own answers. The film revolves around Tri Binh (Cody Nam Vo), a Gen Z boy who returns to a remote countryside to spend his summer vacation with his grandfather, Mr. Thoi (Cao Minh) - a veteran who has lived in solitude for many years.

Tri Binh repeatedly witnesses a series of strange phenomena involving his grandfather. As the secrets about Mr. Thoi are gradually revealed, he is forced to confront his fears and bridge the generational gap to eventually realize the value of things that seemed to have been forgotten.
