Disney has just released the first images of Frozen 3, unveiling a new journey for Anna, Elsa, and their friends in a mysterious frozen land. On August 14, at the D23 event, Disney introduced the first details regarding Frozen 3. The new installment features the return of Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff, and Josh Gad, with a theatrical release scheduled for November 24, 2027.
The footage screened exclusively for the D23 audience confirmed that Anna and Kristoff will get married. Notably, Anna and Elsa sport new character designs, while Kristoff, Olaf, and Sven appear in formal attire complete with bow ties.
According to Variety, the story of Frozen 3 takes place after the wedding of Anna and Kristoff. A mysterious omen leads to the appearance of a portal opening into a snow-covered world. Anna and Elsa step through this portal to explore a new land, characterized by a white, frigid landscape distinct from Arendelle.
Actress Idina Menzel described this as a land that is "wilder and more dangerous than anything Elsa has ever created."

Frozen 3 was announced by Bob Iger in February 2023. The film was initially slated for a 2026 release but was subsequently delayed. Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff, and Josh Gad will return to voice Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, and Olaf, respectively. Trent Correy has joined the project as a co-director.
The two previous installments were global box-office hits. Frozen, released in 2013, grossed approximately $1.3 billion and won two Oscars, including Best Animated Feature. Frozen 2, released in 2019, grossed approximately $1.45 billion.
