Fearing that audiences might flood the cinema with tears, the production team of "Nghi he so nghi huu" (Summer Break, Retirement Fear) gifted tissues to viewers at the film's premiere.

Following Ho Chi Minh City, the film "Nghi he so nghi huu" (directed by Huynh Lap) held another premiere in Hanoi on the evening of August 14.

Unlike other film premieres where audiences are typically gifted tote bags, posters, stills, or other souvenirs, the crew of "Nghi he so nghi huu" offered a unique gift at both premiere events: a small pack of tissues accompanied by the message, "We hope this gift helps when you need it most."

Previously, on her personal social media page after watching the film, singer Phuong My Chi shared that she burst into tears in the theater when hearing Mr. Thoi (played by Meritorious Artist Cao Minh) say: "I am not afraid of passing away. I am only afraid that the younger generation today does not know what we passed away for."

"This film truly moved me to tears; it has been a long time since I cried this much... The film doesn't rely on distant philosophies; it is filled with genuine elements—love for family, patriotism, love for one's ambitions, and even the spiritual aspects of the film. I don't know why, but I found it all so authentic, making me believe and immerse myself in the story," Chi shared.

Online, many audience members also claimed they "flooded the theater with tears" while watching: "Laughing heartily then crying uncontrollably—it's truly impressive," "It's been a long time since I watched a Vietnamese post-war film that made me shed tears so early on," "Laughed through the first half, cried through the second, and finally realized that living a normal life is a privilege," "It gives the audience so many emotional levels—sometimes laughing until it hurts, other times crying until there are no tears left."

On the evening of August 13, at the premiere held at the National Cinema Center, many audience members were seen sobbing, having to use the special gift provided by the production team before entering the theater. Some joked, "My blush washed away," "Good thing I didn't wear foundation," or "Left the theater with so much on my mind" in the comments section of the film's official fanpage.

"Nghi he so nghi huu" marks Huynh Lap's return as a director following last year's box-office hit "Nha gia tien," which grossed 242 billion VND. The film features a cast including Meritorious Artist Cao Minh, Cody Nam Vo, Hua Vi Van, Hong Anh, Phuong Thanh, Huynh Lap, and Tin Nguyen.

Following the premiere, the film will have early screenings from August 14 to August 16, before its official nationwide theatrical release on August 21.

Previously, "Nghi he so nghi huu" was expected to join the "race" for the September 2nd holiday. However, the film unexpectedly moved its release date up by one week.
