Cannes 'exception' and blockbuster 'Hope' sets unprecedented records for South Korea, confirms Vietnam release for September 2nd holiday

(TGĐA) - After a 10-year hiatus since The Wailing - a masterpiece that attracted 6.87 million viewers in South Korea and captivated international critics at the 69th Cannes Film Festival, director Na Hong Jin officially returns to the cinematic race with the most ambitious project of his career: Hope (original title: Hope).

Boasting one of the largest budgets in the history of South Korean cinema, the film quickly garnered attention when it was selected to compete officially at the Cannes Film Festival. Furthermore, Hope will continue to represent South Korean cinema at the Midnight Madness screening of the 51st Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) - a special category dedicated to unique and bold horror, action, thriller, and monster films.
Following its journey through various international film festivals and cinematic events, Hope is finally preparing to reach Vietnamese audiences. The film is scheduled to officially premiere on September 4th, making Vietnam the first market in the region to experience Na Hong Jin's latest work. The film will also have early screenings for 3 days, including September 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.
Featuring a cast including Hwang Jung Min, Zo In Sung, Hoyeon, Taylor Russell, Cameron Britton, along with Alicia Vikander and Michael Fassbender, and a breathtaking plot, Hope is certain to deliver an authentic, vivid cinematic experience and set a new standard for storytelling on the big screen.
