Dau Pagoda - An ancient Buddhist setting and a hub of Kinh Bac culture. Dau Pagoda is located in Tri Qua Ward, Bac Ninh Province, within the Dau - Luy Lau region, a Buddhist center established in the early centuries AD. Recognized as a Special National Monument since 2013, the pagoda is associated with the intersection of Buddhism introduced from India and indigenous beliefs, particularly the 'Tu Phap' (Four Dharmas) cult, consisting of Phap Van (Cloud), Phap Vu (Rain), Phap Loi (Thunder), and Phap Dien (Lightning). The pagoda's space, along with its heritage system, statues, and ancient landscape, provides a suitable backdrop for scenes related to Buddhism, folk beliefs, cultural life, and the rural atmosphere of the Kinh Bac region. The Dau region festival, with its rituals of Buddha processions, incense offerings, and community activities, also offers distinct visual material of Northern Vietnamese culture. The pagoda currently preserves 107 woodblocks dating back to the 18th-19th centuries, which were recognized as National Treasures in 2024. With its unique historical, architectural, and religious value, Dau Pagoda is suitable for historical films, cultural films, feature films, television series, documentaries, commercials, music videos, and art programs. The monument space provides a rich, authentic setting to recreate early Buddhism, agricultural beliefs, and Kinh Bac cultural life, while adding cultural depth to cinematic works.
