Hanoi International Film Festival returns in November

There are many cinematic activities in particular and cultural events in general taking place within the framework of the 8th Hanoi International Film Festival.

According to the organization plan recently issued by the Hanoi People's Committee, the 8th Hanoi International Film Festival (HANIFF VIII) is scheduled to take place on November 28 at the Vietnam Exhibition Center (VEC), with the red carpet ceremony and opening ceremony broadcast live on VTV and HTV.
The opening film screening is scheduled to take place on the same day at the National Cinema Center, Hanoi.
HANIFF is held biennially and is a cinematic event of political and cultural significance, contributing to celebrating the country's major holidays; while simultaneously promoting the image of the capital city of Hanoi and the rich cultural identity of Vietnam to international friends; discovering, encouraging, and honoring new talents in Vietnamese and world cinema, creating momentum for the creativity and development of cinematic art.
The organizing committee stated that Hanoi will host many attractive activities within the framework of the event.
An exhibition promoting the image of the capital through cinema is expected to take place over 6 days, from November 27 to December 2, at 93 Dinh Tien Hoang Street.

A special art program to welcome the film festival, hosted by the Hanoi People's Committee, is scheduled to take place on November 29 at Ho Van - within the Temple of Literature - Imperial Academy Cultural and Scientific Activity Center.
There will also be a mobile film screening program scheduled to be held in November at 5 locations in the wards and communes of Ba Dinh, Hoan Kiem, Dong Anh, Son Tay, and Cau Giay, combined with art performances and interactions with the audience. Hanoi has also arranged space for film screenings and cinematic exchanges at the Vietnam Exhibition Center (VEC) from November 26 to December 2.
There will also be a sightseeing tour on December 1 at Duong Lam ancient village or Bat Trang pottery village, along with several typical monuments and scenic spots of Hanoi.
Within the framework of the festival, the city will present the "Hanoi Award" to films about Hanoi that have cultural and historical significance and are consistent with the capital's identity. The award for the best feature film about Hanoi is worth 100 million VND; the award for the best short film about Hanoi is worth 50 million VND.
