Ha Lien Ancient Village

Ha Lien Ancient Village - A rural setting amidst the Nha Phu Lagoon. Ha Lien Village, now known as Ha Lien Residential Group, Hoa Thang Ward, Khanh Hoa Province, is located at the mouth of the Dinh River, bordering the Nha Phu Lagoon and near Hon Heo Mountain. The village was established in 1653, associated with the history of settlers arriving to reclaim land and establish communities in the Ninh Hoa region. In terms of space, Ha Lien stands out for its isolated position amidst aquaculture zones. The single access road leading into the village, the aquaculture ponds, mangrove forests, and boat mooring areas create a landscape structure characteristic of a lagoon-side community. Within the village, there are communal houses, the Nam Hai Whale Temple, various shrines, Hue Lien Pagoda, and a system of closely packed residential houses. The historical value of Ha Lien is also linked to revolutionary activities during the 1945–1965 period. This characteristic provides a basis for utilizing the location for historical documentaries, community cultural films, and works recreating rural life, provided that appropriate costumes and period-accurate settings are used.
