Tan Trao Communal House – A Historical Landmark of the August Revolution Located within the Tan Trao Special National Relic Site in Tuyen Quang Province, Tan Trao Communal House is the historic venue where the Tan Trao National Congress took place on August 16–17, 1945—a pivotal event for the August Revolution. The Congress endorsed the policy of a General Uprising, adopted the 10 major policies of the Viet Minh, established the national flag and anthem, and formed the Vietnam National Liberation Committee, led by Ho Chi Minh. The structure is built in the style of a traditional mountain stilt house, featuring a wooden frame, three main bays with two lean-tos, and a palm-leaf thatched roof. The site is dedicated to the worship of the Village Tutelary God, as well as local river and mountain deities. Nestled amidst the mountainous landscape of Tan Trao, the communal house creates a harmonious blend of architecture and nature, characteristic of the Viet Bac region.
