Ta Lai Village, Dong Nai: A setting for Ma ethnic culture. Located in Ta Lai Commune, Tan Phu District, Dong Nai Province, Ta Lai Village is the long-standing home of the Ma and S'tieng ethnic communities. It is situated within the buffer zone of Cat Tien National Park and is associated with the Ta Lai Prison Relic, part of the War Zone D geographical area. The site was established and developed as a community tourism destination to preserve indigenous cultural heritage. The area features diverse natural terrain, combining the winding Dong Nai River, gentle hills, and primary forest vegetation. A prominent architectural highlight is the traditional Longhouse, crafted from wood, rattan, bamboo, and palm leaf roofing, creating an open spatial system and cinematic angles with an authentic, ancient, and indigenous aesthetic. The grounds stretch across isolated village clusters that retain original cultural activities such as brocade weaving, basketry, and gong performances, creating a unique harmony between natural light and traditional cultural colors. With its historical value, indigenous architecture, and distinctive natural landscape, the site is well-suited for use as a backdrop for historical-war films, cultural-ethnographic documentaries, and survival film projects, subject to buffer zone management regulations and filming permit requirements.
